CLEVELAND CAVALIERS HATS GUIDE:
The Cleveland Cavaliers were formed in 1970 and play in the Central Division of the Eastern Conference. The home games have been played in the Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse in front of up to 20,562 spectators since 1994. The only championship was won in 2016 with LeBron James, Kyrie Irving and Kevin Love as key players, earning the City of Cleveland its first title in a major US sport in over 50 years.
The Cavaliers were quite unsuccessful at the beginning of their history. This culminated in the 80s with a rule specially named after the owner at the time. This permanently traded the draft picks of the Cavs, so that the NBA had to intervene with the "Ted Stepien Rule" so that the future of a franchise cannot be built up in the long term. After hardly any spectators came to the games, Stepien sold the team in 1983. 1986 Lenny Wilkens was hired as a coach and with the newcomers Brad Daugherty, Ron Harper, Mark Price, John Williams and Larry Nance things went uphill. At the beginning of the 90s, the Cavaliers were among the strongest teams in the east, but failed again and again because of Michael Jordan and the Chicago Bulls. The team disintegrated in the mid-1990s and took a long time to escape from its insignificance.
It wasn't until 2003 with the draft of LeBron James that the Cavs went from being one of the worst teams to a serious opponent almost overnight. In 2007, the Cavs were in the NBA final for the first time, but lost to the San Antonio Spurs. In 2009 they had the best record in the league, but did not reach the final. LeBron James left the team in 2010 and the Cavs tried rebuilding with players like Kyrie Irving and Tristan Thompson, but also brought in Anthony Bennett with the 1st pick, now considered one of the biggest draft disappointments, LeBron James returned to Cleveland in 2014 and by swapping rookie Andrew Wiggins for Kevin Love, he got a star at the side. In 2015 the Cavs were again in the NBA finals, but lost to the Golden State Warriors 2-4. The head coach was changed and under Tyronn Lue the Cavaliers reached the NBA final again in 2016 and revenge against the Warriors came. After a 3-1 lead, Golden State actually gambled away the championship and the Cavaliers became the first team to catch up such a deficit in the final. The following year the two teams met for the third time in the final, but with the signing of Kevin Durant, the Warriors made short work of 4-1. LeBron James and Kyrie Irving then left Cleveland and the Cavaliers faded into insignificance again.

What colors and logos are most popular on Cleveland Cavaliers hats?
The Cleveland Cavaliers team colors are burgundy, gold and dark blue. Most Cleveland Cavaliers hats are therefore dark blue, black or burgundy. The current logo is a black shield with a burgundy C and a yellow sword in the middle. The team name is written in white above the C. This logo has been in use since 2017. Before that, the Cavs in the time of LeBron James had since 2004 a red basketball with the team name in white diagonally in the middle with a blue outline and a yellow sword that also went diagonally through the lettering. The C is the same as the current logo. Between 1995 and 2003, the Cavs had a logo with the name abbreviation in blue, a black square above that depicting a white basket and an orange ball flying into the basket. At the time, blue and orange were still the team colors. From 1984 to 1994 the logo was a bold orange CAVS lettering with the V representing a basket into which a ball fell. The original logo was introduced in 1971 and featured a yellow basketball with a red cavalier with a sword. The team name was written in red around the ball. Most Cleveland Cavaliers hats now use the current logo, or a variation of it with just the C. The logo from LeBron James times is also used frequently. The blue-orange Cavs logo can also be seen now and then in retro collections.
