The Portland Trail Blazers were founded in 1970. They play in the Northwest Division of the Western Conference. Since 1995, they have played their home games at the Moda Center in Portland in front of up to 19,393 spectators. The name was supposed to be Pioneers, but the name already existed, so they settled on Trail Blazers. The region around Portland was once known for travelers moving from the East to the West across the Oregon Trail to settle the West, so the team name was based on the history of the region. In 1974, Bill Walton, the first star, joined the Trail Blazers, leading Portland to its first and only NBA title to date in 1977. Clyde Drexler was the next star, selected in the 1983 draft. The following year, the Blazers had the opportunity to select Michael Jordan, but passed on him because he was too similar to Drexler and opted for center Sam Bowie. With Arvydas Sabonis and Drazen Petrovic, the Trail Blazers drafted European players in 1986 who became stars. In 1990 and 1992, they made it to the NBA Finals again, but lost to the Detroit Pistons and then the Chicago Bulls. At the turn of the millennium, the Blazers had a strong team again, but were dubbed the Jailblazers due to law conflicts involving many players, such as Rasheed Wallace. In 2007, the Blazers were able to add another star to LaMarcus Aldridge and Brandon Roy with the first draft pick, but decided against eventual MVP Kevin Durant and selected center talent Greg Oden - who made headlines more for injuries than on-court performances. In 2012, the upcoming franchise player Damian Lillard was drafted and the following year CJ McCollum, who have since formed a strong duo on the floor. Most recently, the Portland Trail Blazers made headlines when they signed aging star Carmelo Anthony, who couldn't find a team for a long time. What colors and logos are most popular on Portland Trail Blazers caps? The team colors are red and black, so most Portland Trail Blazers caps are also in these colors. The logo is two by 5 interlocking curved lines in white and red with a black outline. These each symbolize 5 players on the basketball court and the curves represent movement in sports. This symbolism has been used in different forms since the franchise was founded. Initially, the lines went from top to bottom. In 1991, the logo was rotated 45 degrees in perspective and the BLAZERS lettering was placed to the right of it. At that time, the lines were also black and red. In 2003, the black outline was added and the black lines became white. The BLAZERS also moved below the symbol. In 2005, the lines were set in a black background and the colors were changed to gray and red. In addition, the city name was placed at the top of the logo and the team name at the bottom. This logo lasted until 2017, before the current one was introduced. The Portland Rip City nickname is also commonly found on Portland Trail Blazers caps. Most popular Portland Trail Blazers Caps:
