The Golden State Warriors were founded in 1946 as the Philadelphia Warriors. In 1962 the franchise moved to San Francisco and renamed itself the San Francisco Warriors. In 1991, they moved to Oakland and the team was renamed Golden State Warriors, which refers to the state of California rather than the city. Because of this, there was no further renaming when the team moved back to San Francisco in 2019. The franchise was a founding member of the BAA in 1946, which later became the NBA, and was even the first master. The Warriors are one of only three teams that have played in the league since it was founded until today. As Philadelphia Warriors one also won the championship in 1956. In 1975 the franchise won an NBA Championship as the Golden State Warriors. After that, it took 40 years before the next title became possible for the Warriors in 2015. The team around Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson, Draymond Green and later Kevin Durant is one of the strongest dynasties in NBA history. With 73 wins and only 9 defeats, they exceeded the previous record of the Michael Jordan-led Chicago Bulls from 1996 - by the way, Warriors Head Coach Steve Kerr played as guard for this team. An outstanding LeBron James 2016 and bad luck with injuries against the Toronto Raptors 2019 prevented the Warriors from becoming champions in the 5 finals in which they stood in a row. In addition to the stars of these championship teams, Wilt Chamberlain, Chris Mullin or Tim Hardaway and Chris Webber also wore the jersey of the Golden State Warriors. Golden State Warriors Hat were just as popular in the Run TMC era as they are today.

The team colors of the Golden State Warriors are blue and yellow. The current logo shows a blue circle with the Golden Gate Bridge in yellow. Golden State is above and Warriors below the logo. Between 1998 and 2010, the logo was a muscular dark blue figure with a lightning bolt in his hands. The lightning went straight into the yellow Warriors lettering. In the background was an orange basketball. Before that, the logo was a lot simpler with a yellow basketball and the outline of California in blue inside. As with the current logo, the city was on top and the team name was on the bottom. All three logos can often be found on Golden State Warriors hats. The current one on hats from New Era, which also like to use alternative logos on the hats that match the current jersey variants. The historical logos are used on Mitchell & Ness hats.
